Long time…BIG news!

First of all, my apologies for abandoning this blog! I guess you could say there was a drought, famine, or whatever you want to call it on the “2 are better than 1” blog. Anyway, my last post was Memorial Day and there has been a lot going on since then.

Let’s see if I can sum up…Adam and I went to the beach with my family for a week. It was the first time in probably 12 years that I have been down with my side of the family and we had a blast. Adam discovered his love of fishing thanks to my Uncle Drenner and his boat. P1030665
When we got back, Adam’s dad, my dad and I entered a 5k on a golf course. Hard stuff. Anyway, it turns out that I won 1st Female overall and Adam’s dad won 3rd in his age group! It was his first race he’d ever run…congrats Dad #2! I’ll post pics later…

The last week in June we got to go to the beach again with Adam’s family. This was my 4th year going with them (I think) and I always love going down there. We rent a house at Ocean Isle with about 12 of his other family members and it’s one trip that I look forwad going on every year! I’ll post pics later for that too…

I’ve saved the biggest news of the summer for last…drum roll please…
On June 10th, 2009, Adam and I found out that we are expecting!! Yes, it is true, I am currently 9 weeks pregnant! People have asked us, “did you plan it?, was it a surprise?”, well…let’s just say God’s timing is perfect and He knows what He’s doing! It actually works out pretty good…I’m due February 12th, 2010 and will be out for so many weeks, then I won’t have long until I get to stay home with the baby for the summer! Adam and I both are truly excited about this new chapter that has begun in our lives. There will be some changes, but change is always good…right? Now, I am new at this…obviously…so check back because I may have questions, wonderings, and comments for all you moms out there to help me out with! Until then, I’ll leave you with our first pictures of our little gummy bear!

We are truly excited to see what God as blessed us with. Please keep us in your prayers as well as our little one! I’m sure I’ll be posting a lot more in the coming months with updates and such…so be sure to check back!

PS: (It feels good to have finally gotten that secret out!)

Superbowl XLIII

Well, whether you like it or not, the best team won last night. I would have preferred for the underdogs to win it, but it just didn’t turn out that way. It was an exciting game (although I did fall asleep at about the 2nd quarter). Yes…football as we know it is over until August. It was a very sad day for some people, but to me, it’s kind of like take it or leave it (sorry Adam). It just means to me that summer is getting closer and it will get lighter, longer outside in a couple of weeks! Here’s to another close, but not so close year for the Panthers and to all the hopeful fans out there…there’s always next year!

Lazy Saturday

I love Saturdays! Today may have been the laziest day ever in the Hamilton household! We woke up after 10, picked up the house, went to the store and came home to watch Appalachian squash Western Carolina. Currently, we are still on our bums watching some tv and hanging out together. Today has been awesome and I wouldn’t trade any second of it! There was really no point to this post other than telling you how much I love Saturdays and I guess how lazy we are! Oh well…I love it! Here’s to great Saturday’s with your husband!

Monday Night Challenge

So, every Monday night during football season Adam and I go head to head! Last year, we started the “Monday Night Challenge” where every Monday night we each pick who we think will win the Monday Night football game. It started out simple…but ever since then, we have gotten a little more competitive. 🙂

I won last year, but this year Adam is up a couple of games so far…but I plan on making a huge comeback! I will be sure to keep you all updated on things! Until then, Go Saints!

NCAA Brackets

So, Adam and I made our brackets for the tournament and let me just say, I never knew how competitive I was until this! We made them with our small group and surprisingly, I am in 1st place! Now, that all might change with the next couple of rounds coming up, so I guess we’ll see!

On another note, we have begun our spree of packing up to move into our new house. We have so much stuff, most of it we have never used since we’ve been married! Packing is definatly a process! Anyway, just wanted to give a little update and I’m sure I’ll be updating a lot more frequently because we’ve got a lot going on in the next few weeks! Until then…adios!

3-PEAT

Yes, Appalachian State has done it again and I was privileged enough to be there for the amazing defeat! Adam and I took off Friday to travel to Chattanooga to watch Appalachian play University of Delaware. I was nervous on the way up because Delaware was a pretty good team and I wanted Appalachian to beat them so bad so they could say they won the National Championship 3 years in a row! My brother-in-law is a student assistant coach for them and I couldn’t be more happier for him! Now he can proudly wear 3…yes 3 National Championship rings on his fingers! Anyway, it was an amazing weekend with an amazing win! Go Apps!
