Thank You IKEA

Ever since IKEA opened a couple of weeks ago, Adam and I have been every chance we could get. Shhhhh…I have a secret…Adam likes going and picking out things for our house just as much as I do, and I have to say that he is pretty good at it! Everything has definately been a joint effort! Thanks Adam for the “interior designer” in you! I’ll leave you with a few pics of our recent purchases…

A New Fave…

As I was going through my usual blogroll, I came across this very cool website. I got it off of the “Loving. Living. Small.” blog and it’s great! It’s got everything you could ever think of! Anyway, go here to check it out, but beware (dun, dun, dun)…it’s addicting!

Moving Day!

Well, tomorrow’s the big day! WE’RE MOVING!!! I can’t believe it’s already here. Adam and I thought (key word – thought) we didn’t have that much stuff to move, but when we started packing, that all changed. We ended up having to rent a moving truck which was probably the smartest thing to do. Adam’s parents, my dad, and Adam’s Aunt and Uncle came over tonight to help load everything up. Surprisingly, it went very smooth and fast! We are staying at Adam’s parent’s house tonight and then in the morning, we have our final walk through and then our closing is at 12pm. After that, the fun begins…..unpacking! I’m actually very excited because I get to decide where things go. I am sad to leave our little one bedroom apartment though because that was where we called “home” for a year and a lot of memories were made (good and bad). We are very thankful, however, that the Lord provided an amazing place like that that we could get started in. The Lord has definatly been good to us and has blessed us beyond belief! Please keep us in your prayers tomorrow that everything would go smoothly and the right decisions would be made.

Moving countdown – 14 hours!

It’s Official!

Well, it’s FINALLY OFFICIAL!!! Adam and I will be moving into our new house the weekend of March 28th! Our loan finally went through on Friday and Adam called me to tell me the great news. This has definatly been a blessing because we did not have a plan B!

Last night, Adam and I started packing some things that we don’t really use. We started in the kitchen and I never realized how much stuff we really have. I mean, we’ve already packed up 15 boxes of kitchen stuff that we haven’t used since we’ve been married! I think we underestimated how much stuff we really do have.

On another note, church was amazing yesterday! Pastor told us that we wouldn’t want to miss it because a special guest would be in the house. Adam and I were wracking our brains on who it could be (Adam guessed Josh McDowell). Our guesses were wrong. It was the music director for all of the Billy Graham Crusades, Cliff Barrows. Before yesterday, I have never heard of him, but they showed a slideshow of his life and man, he really is a legend! He has been with Billy Graham since his Crusades started and they are still the best of friends. Mr. Barrows really gave our generation a peek into what his generation was like and it was amazing. He prayed over our congregation and for our Pastor and the staff at Elevation. It was definatly encouraging seeing an 85 year old man still walking strong with the Lord and saying that his best days have yet to come! It was a blessing for Adam and I to have the privledge to sit and listen to him! We can really learn a ton from the generation before us and I believe we need to open our ears and listen!

Anyway, time for work…have a great day!

This is it!

Yay!!! We’ve found it! **sigh** This house is absolutly perfect! The Lord has truly blessed us with something so amazing! I really don’t know what to say about this house other than it’s perfect! Adam and I are so excited about everything. We spent 2 hours in their offices signing paperwork for the agreement and will be back in their offices March 28 to close!! Keep us in your prayers that we may continue to make the right decisions and for the Lord to continue to guide us the way He wants us to go!

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” -Proverbs 3:5-6

Plan B isn’t always worse than Plan A!

Well, our plan A house didn’t work out. It was a good thing, and it definatly was a God thing. The Lord was and still is looking out for us! We decided to rescind our offer on the first house simply because we did not feel the other sides were being honest with us and we just felt like we were being “pushed around”.

We are currently looking at our 2nd pick that is in the same neighborhood. We have an appointment to go to the house to meet with the sellers tomorrow afternoon. Please keep praying for guidence and wisdom through all this and that we ultimately make the right decision! Thank you all for all your support and prayers through this process, we could not do it without you!

More details to come….

A Diamond in the Ruff

Yes, it has been a very long time since I’ve posted, but I’m here now! Well, a lot of things have happened and we are very excited! Recently we found out our apartment rent was going up and Adam and I did not like that at all. We really didn’t like the idea of renting and throwing our money away, so we decided to start looking for our first house. Monday, we sent an email to Adam’s Uncle who’s a realtor and by Friday we were looking at our first houses. Looking for a house can be very emotional! We thought we had found something Friday, but I wasn’t completely sold on it (I didn’t have that feeling), I also said that night that I really think there is a diamond in the rough out there somewhere and we had just not found it yet.

Saturday was a completely different story. We had a couple of houses to look at and the last house we looked at was a WINNER! Adam and I definatly had that feeling of “this is it” as soon as we walked in the front door. It is a beautiful remodeled home that is in a very established and appealing neighborhood. I believe that it is absolutly PERFECT for us. So, to make a long story short, we decided to make an offer on it because we knew it would be gone very fast! Come to find out, there was already an offer on it by other potential buyers. BUMMER! But, we decided to at least give it a chance and make an offer…well, Saturday night we faxed the offer in and we won’t know until probably Monday afternoon if the sellers have accepted it or not. The other potential buyers could counter our offer in which case we would back out of it. This house is definately the “diamond in the ruff” I was talking about and Adam and I are praying hard that everything will work out to our advantage.

We also need all the prayer we can get because I truly believe in the power of prayer and everything that it can do. Please pray that if is God’s will that we have this house we would continue to have the wisdom we need in making our decisions; if it is not His will, pray that He would clearly close the door and that we would understand. We definatly want Him to be glorified throughout this process and it is our promise that He will be glorified through everything we do and everything we have. We are very excited about all this and hopefully we will have some good news Monday or Tuesday! We’ll see!
